BUZIOS
As an alternative to Rio, look no farther than the line of cars heading out
of town, as the Cariocas themselves seek a gateway. Their destination is
Buzios, a world away from the hustle of the cities, a peninsula north best
known for the nearly two dozen beaches nestled in its curves and coves, each
with a personality of its own.
Buzios’charm and beauty go a long way back. Since Brigitte Bardot chose
Buzios to spend some time in the 60’s the city has been receiving
distinguished guests ever since, like Mick Jagger, Madonna ... well-heeled
South American tourists keep coming, earning Buzios the frequent comparison
to St Tropez and swelling the local population of 20,000 three or four
times in the summer. |
